Nancy Fraser

Nancy Fraser is Henry A. and Louise Loeb Professor Emerita of Philosophy and Politics at the New School for Social Research and a member of the Editorial Committee of New Left Review. A philosopher by training, she is a leading voice in critical social theory and political philosophy, widely known for her work on redistribution, recognition, justice and capitalism. Her recent research explores capitalism’s links to racial oppression, social reproduction, ecological crisis, feminist movements and right-wing populism. Her books include Cannibal Capitalism (2022), Feminism for the 99% (2019), The Old is Dying and the New Cannot Be Born (2019) and Capitalism: A Conversation in Critical Theory (2018). Her work has been translated into more than twenty languages. She has received numerous international honours, including the French Legion of Honor, six honorary degrees and major awards for critical scholarship.
