Helena Lima (Orquestra Geração)

Born in Lisbon, Helena Lima holds a degree from Universidade Nova de Lisboa and postgraduate qualifications in Artistic Practices and Social Inclusion, and in Social Programme and Project Evaluation, both from Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Her career combines teaching Musicology in specialised arts education schools, including the Conservatório Nacional since 2000, with the management and coordination of Orquestra Geração. She has coordinated the project since its creation in 2007 and currently supports the Directorate of the Escola Artística de Música do Conservatório Nacional in its pedagogical development. She is also President of the Associação das Orquestras Sinfónicas Juvenis Sistema Portugal, responsible for the project’s executive management and global coordination, reaching over 1,800 students. In 2017, she created Orquestra de Afectos, aimed at kindergarten children. She was also a member of the Lisbon Chamber Choir from 1986 to 2016.
